NJC is a Family Business. Everyone that works at NJC becomes part of the extended family. Founded by the current Co-CEO’s mother, Connie Heppelthwaite in 1984 using money from her widow’s benefit to buy cleaning materials and equipment to take on a small contract in Reading (2 cleaners for 2 hours per evening, she was one of those cleaners). All three of her sons have worked in the business (along with 2 of the wives). Connie always called her business, her survival kit, that enabled her to provide for her 3 boys and keep food on the table. She still finds it hard to believe that NJC cleans the amazing premises we do, and work for the brilliant customers we do, when the company was founded from such humble beginnings. The original purpose of the business hasn’t really changed that much, we just have a lot more people using NJC as their own ‘survival kit’ now.
